Transparent Projection Screen Information

Transparent Screens are a stiff plastic film or a 1/8 to 1/4 solid sheet of plastic, depending on the design and optical characteristics desired. It is almost water clear with unique optical characteristics. The custom ones such as a the "Talking Head" type are water clear around the head area where there is no coating.
The image can be live or pre-recorded video. It will also work with still images from a slide projector.
The viewer can look around the virtual person to see the real background or props behind the virtual person. This works even with the full area coating.
This is best done with a person filmed on a black background.
Even better is to use a "green screen" to put in video black.
Where there is a person projected it acts like a rear projection screen.
Where there is no light the Transparent Screen appears clear.
As the person moves around the effect still works. The person or object does not have to stay in the center of the screen. The effect works anywhere on the screen as long as there is a black background around the person. This does not apply to the custom area coated types, such as a "Talking Head". They have to stay in the coated area.

REINTEK Transparent Projection Screens are excelent for making images that look like holograms without the cost or danger of lasers. The screen can make a high resolution, full color video image that is better than a real hologram. When you need the effect of a holographic projection, REINTEK Transparent Projection Screens are an easy way to go. The screen works with a standard video projector. To get the screen to work correctly, some care and design must be put into the video source. But this is cheap and easy to do.

Another special effect is multiple images. If 2 Transparent Screens are lined up 4 feet away from one another, the same image appears on all of them. The Screen has a unique affect of not scattering the light that passes through it. This could be used as "Big Brother" effect, of one person everywhere.

The optical material;

The film is about the thickness of a business card.
The sheets are 1/8 or 1/4 in thick plastic.
There is two different coating processes unique to each.
It is not made out of small pieces tiled together. It is a solid sheet with no seams.
It does not have a purple tint or milky " plastic drop cloth" characteristics.
The optical elements are microscopic so there is no visible texture or resolution loss even when viewed from a foot away.
The thin film works "medium" with 3D passive glasses but both the film and the glasses may have to be custom oriented.
The thicker sheet types work with passive 3D glasses. No custom orientation needed and the extinction ratio is higher than the film sheets.
Both types can come in 2 different densities. Not really noticeable and slightly noticeable. The denser the coating, the brigher and wider the viewing.
The area coated types have very diffused edges.

It can be used to present virtual people, fake holograms, fake holographic video projection and probably many other magic tricks that you or your client can think up.
The thin film length can easily be 10 feet, but the maximum with is 5 feet.
The area coated ones are limited to about 4 x 6 feet for now.
